Hi, Youki, thanks for your advice. I haven´t tested your nice front-end yet. I did a fast run like five days ago and it seemed a little slow for me (I tried the space background with moving meteorites). I have an AMD 2400. Anyway, I see that you use overlays for animation. Could be possible to use animated gif´s or png as background? Maybe they are not the best way beause of its size in kb at a good resolution and decent frames.

The new modules looks really well.

By the way, I´m going to add a link to your homepage in our links section.

Best regards

Mi respuesta:

"Hola, Youki, gracias por el aviso. Todavía no he probado tu estupendo front-end.

Hi Macarro,

It should not be slow on a AMD 2400!!!. In my cab i use a AMD 2000 with an ArcadeVGA, it is really fast with that layout.

How much memory you have?

If you have speed problem with Animated layout, try non-animated one.

You can use AVI as background if you want already.

To do that , you have just to create a layout as you would do for other layout. (there is tutorial in Atomic Doc).

But instead of having a file called Layout.png , just put a Layout.AVI , and if you have the right codec installed on your PC, you will see you video on the layout as background. If you use XVID video, read the document i put on my website about that. The XVID codec have a problem and Atomic can not support it, but there is a workaround to be able to play XVID video with Atomic using another codec.

I don't support mng. And it is not in my plan for now. may be later...

Thanks

Thanks for your support. As I said, I just make a fast run of your front-end for testing. It has a lot a features I really want, so I´ll do a lot of tests with it wink.gif

I got 512MB of ram, I´ve just run it and it takes 30secs to start. It start in a second with a black screen and the versión number in the upper right corner and it took the rest of the time to get until de layout itself. Then, it worked right, but a little slow. I mean, when I navigate through the game list, it has a little delay.

Gracias.

It is because you have thousand roms i think. By default it scan all roms to build his list. But if you use predifined list , you won't have this problem.
Try the mame plug'n play module , put your roms in the roms folder. And you will see it should be fast. And you will be able to navigate in yours roms selecting category.

In AtomicManager.Exe , you could try to decrease the "repeat key" delay parameter on the Advanced tab.
