emuControlCenter - the rom manager!

Hi,
fist of all hi @ all. I´m not really good in portuguese or spanish. I´m also not an good english writer. I´ve only seen emuControlCenter on 1 portuguese page, so i think, its not really known here! So, here is an introduction!

What is the emuControlCenter???
emuControlCenter is an rom and emulator manager for many (more than 100) platforms (Arcade + MAME, Console, Handheld, Computer, Handy, Flash) You will find a full list on the website.

You can manage your roms including metadata like developer, musican, languages aso in emuControlCenter. (including online database with import/export) Use the real extended search to find your roms with some fingertips. (example: show only roms supporting spanish as language!) Add your own screenshots to roms or get one of the emuControlCenter imagepacks.

Download:
You can get the emuControlCenter 0.9.6 R2 at http://www.camya.com/
You will find the new 0.9.7 WIP versions in the forum.!

Translations:
Btw. emuControlCenter is translated to english, german, french, dutch ... poruguese and spanish is still missing :-)
So, if you want to translate it... its very easy! Visit the forum an ask, how to do it. Hint, take a look to the ecc-system/i18n/ folder!

Hi, ECC, I've just added today your program to our software list (http://www.drupal.marcianitos.org/pr...ucontrolcenter).

I haven't used it yet but it looks very nice... and if you use our work from NISA, it must be almost perfect.

Best regards.

Hi,
thank you, that you´ve added emuControlCenter to your software list.

Whats NISA? Dont know the word!

If you´ve tested it and find any problems, feel free to add some suggestions to the forum. There are many open ears for ideas!

NISA = No-Intro Screenshot Archive

As soon as I test the software I'll write my impressions about it.

No, sorry, I haven't. Tomorrow we will have a retro computing expo here and I've been busy.

MODIFICATION:

I have a question, what happens to extra data added to games like year of production, number of players, etc... when you update your ROMs and some of them change their names?

Actually I'm really interested in collect a lot of information about games but I don't want to lose all the work everytime the ROMs are updated.

emuControlCenter calculate crc32 checksums for each game. So if you rename an rom, the checksum is the same after renaming. Your metadata is saved by this crc32 checksum. So if you remove all roms from emuControlCenter and add them later again, the metadata is there! No fear! You will not lost your data!

Also no problem. There are two ways to store your collected metadata.

1. Export an eccDat file.
This dat file contains all meta informations you have added to your roms. There are tree types of eccDat files (internal identical).
- a) Full - export all for selected platform (own changed + imported from other dat files like romcenter, CM datfiles, ecc romDB)
- b) User - export only data changed by yourself
- c) E-Search - export only data matching the E-Search rules!

2. Export your data to emuControlCenter online romDB
- romDB is an online metadatabase. You can export your data to this database and get this data back by importing from romDB. (Please note, that you not get all data back yet from romDB, but all is saved. Sometims i´m to lazy :-) )

You can view the latest additions to emuControlCenter romDB (eccdb) here!

Hi, ecc.

The expo was MadridSX, in madrid. We, marcianitos, were there just as visitors, maybe next year we'll have a stand. You can check our photos here:

About ECC, I've already started testing it. It's really amazing but I got a little disoriented by the numerous options. I need to continue with it becuase it seems a great utility to keep our roms in order.

Currently I manage my roms and check my material through MAMEWAH but it's not the best way to do it.

Regards.

Have you already seen the tutorials on the website? The fist steps are covered with these. But you are right... there are many options in emuControlCenter. :-)

help / tutorials
» add new roms
» assign emulator
» edit rom metadata
» add your own images
» add an imagepack

You will find them in the navigation at http://www.camya.com/

Maybe also the video "emuControlCenter (0.9.5 / 0.9.6) PROMO movie" can help you a little bit. (This video is really old, so there are many chages in the gui in 0.9.7)

Regards,
Andreas
