Saludetes :)

Hello.
I have a problem with PowerStrip and I would like to know if there is any solution.

This problem happens when I use non-interlaced low resolution modes with a very low “Pixel Clock” such as 321x240p 60Hz 15,7 Khz (Modeline 321x240p (Arcade 60 Hz 15,7 Khz ) = 321,8,24,32,240,5,3,14,6052,7) for example.

When I try to use a very low “Pixel Clock” mode such as 321x240p 60Hz 15,7 Khz while PowerStripe is active, the image shows at 15,7 Khz and 60Hz for a second, but then it turns to 20,3Khz and 77Hz, so the image cannot be displayed on a CGA monitor. After that, PowerStrip shows the following error: “Timing Limitation; the clocks cannot be read on this display adapter, and must be calculated based on measurement on vertical refresh rate. Only approximations on the pixel clock and scan frequencies can be shown”.

The funny thing is that when PowerStrip is not loaded in memory the image is perfectly shown at 321x240 60Hz 15,7Khz on a CGA monitor, no matter if it is on Windows XP desk (you need Quickres to show Windows desk with this resolution), MAME32 games (after configuring MAME to show the games at 321x240), or other emulators such as KEGA Fusion (after configuring KEGA Fusion to show games at 321x240).

The “Timing Limitation” problem can be avoided by using version 3.66 beta of PowerStrip (after using the option Unlimited=1 in global options inside the pstrip.ini file). However, this only prevents the “Timing Limitation” error from showing, but the problems of showing non-interlaced low resolution modes for a second on a CGA monitor, and that of changing the refresh from15,7 Khz 60Hz to 20,3Khz 77Hz are still there.

For example, when I try to show any image at 240x240p 15,7Khz 60Hz (Modeline 240x240p (Arcade 60Hz 15,7Khz)=240,8,40,16,240,5,3,14,4779,7) while using PowerStrip 3.66 beta, the image is shown during just a second. After that I am informed that the image is being displayed at 25,7Khz 98Hz, making it impossible to see it on a CGA monitor. As in the former case, if PowerStrip 3.66 beta is not loaded in memory, the image is perfectly shown at 240x240p 60Hz 15,7Khz.

I have this problem with PowerStrip 3.62 and 3.66 beta on Windows XP SP2. My graphic card is a Radeon 8500 64MB with Catalyst 6.5 drivers (Catalyst Control Center is not installed because I prefer the ATI Control Panel included on Catalyst 5.10). All non-inter laced low resolution modes have been created with PowerStrip using the following modelines.

-----Incluir las modelines aquí----- :D

(I use 320 and 401 resolutions because 320 and 400 are already included on the system and are forced to a doublescan, making it impossible to see them on a CGA monitor).

Thank you very much.
