[ARCADOS] Versión 1.2

ArcaDOS sólo tiene 5 requisitos:

- todo el software incluido en él debe ser gratuito
- debe instalarse con pasos sencillos, sin conocimientos de infosmática
- debe asemejarse a una recreativa de los años 80
- debe arrancar en escasos segundos, unos 20
- instalar y jugar, sea cual sea el PC, el monitor, etc


Elegí MSDOS porque lo cumplía todo, pero da una cantidad de poblemas con el sonido que me hacen... que me ponen... en fin, jiji. Pero ahora bien, si con W98 todo esto se resuelve, salvo el que no es gratuito, podía ver qué ficheros son los que hacen que funcione todo y ver si alguien ha creado un free de ellos (p.ej. MSDOS no es free, y en cambio FreeDOS sí lo es, jiji)

Uhnnn, creo recordar ver en funcionamiento, hace unos cuantos añitos, una version libre similar al win95. No se si continuó su proyecto con el win98. habrá que preguntar al señor google, aunque solo sea por curiosidad.

Bueno, sea como sea, Arcados continuará ¿no? por que sigue siendo Dos, estaria rulando bajo win o con parte del win (solo la parte que carga los drivers, y una ventana de Dos a pantalla completa, el resto a la papelera, sin mas), pero dos en definitiva.
Como dice pakoman, un proyecto aparte y opcional.

A ver si abro un hilo en la seccion windows, contando exactamente lo que hay que tocar para que funcione el arcados en win98 sin rastro de este y algunas cosillas sobre optimizacion "extrema" del win98, aunque de esto ultimo hay mucho por investigar y por probar, sobre todo probar.

bubu como estas oye te queria comentar sobre los juegos 3d en arcados alguna vez los has probado los llamados cp3, te comento esto por que vi un multijuegos cuadros o quien sabe como se llama y es algo parecido al arcados te lo cuento por que podriamos sacar alguna cosilla de ahi para tu arcados. disculpa por no postear las pruebas con el arcados 1.2 la verda que estaba algo ocupadillo pero cuando tube tiempo no podia por que el servidor aparecia como caido.
ahora quisiera preguntarte sobre los archivos de tu arcados podrias pasarme una lista de que archivos son los que van en la raiz del disco duro y despues las carpetas que hay ahi mismo, lo que quiero es comparar con este master y sacar lo que pueda ya que quedaron de traermelo para checarlo, pues no se que te parece la idea. sobre este master me comentaron que trae algun menu cuando lo instalas que te pregunta que juegos quieres y que tarjeta de sonido tiene tu pc y otras cosillas, estaria interezante examinarlo no crees

ahora en cuanto al arcados no lo he podido bajar del enlace que me pasaste se me corta ala hora de bajar para hacer mis pruebas o tengo que bajar de archivo por archivo?

OK, GILCARBR, buscaré otro enlace y te lo pasaré, pero de momento en esta versión 1.2 no está previsto meter más emulador que el MAME (AdvMAME). Gracias por tu investigación.

And another question: do you have to config every game you load, or you just load and play them?

most of my settings are "auto" and "default". in fact, these can be removed but i chose to put them in so i remember what they are. i don't config every game, i don't understand modelines very well. that setting works for most games, except for a few, as you can see near the bottom of advmame.rc. for these i press "." and "," (dot and comma) to change resolutions then TAB --> VIDEO --> SAVE FOR THIS GAME. i think the keyword here is: display_mode AUTO and device_video AUTO

31.5 vs 30.5 - 50 (horizontal clock)

31.5 (non-multiscan) gives faster performance on PC monitor but it does not always work with advMENU. this is somehow related to "device_video_overlaysize" and "display_size" and if you use a background wallpaper.

i gave priority to the horizontal resolution. this does not give a perfect emulation but is more playable. i think the gameplay slows down or speeds up because the refresh rate adjusts to the available resolution because of this.

display_adjust generate_yclock
display_magnify auto
display_resize mixed

the #comments are there to help me remember settings when experimenting with the config. i used to have 3 pc monitors and i also played with advanceCD booted from DOS.

Bufff, por donde empezar. bueno habro la lata.

- ¿a quien le puede servir esto? jeje, soy la leche ahora es cuando me surge esa duda. Me he pasado por los tutos y si no he entendido mal, serviria para los que tienen los mandos conectados atraves del I-Pac, J-Pac o Hack de teclado ¿no?, ya que estos no necesitan software para funcionar, vamos que si estando en linea de comandos del Dos por ejemplo pulsan el boton start de la maca en la pantalla se escribe el 1 ¿no?. Confirmarme esto please.
Para los que se conentan atraves del IPP quizas habria que pensar una forma de cargar el DosJoy2K de Manofwar antes, auque esto podria esperar a otra version del arcados.
El resto a tirar de teclado como toda la vida.

- Para empezar, podria modificar de un momento el menu.bat (menus de instalacion) le pruebas (eso sí, con un rem antes del format y demas, no la liemos), y si das el visto bueno, pasamos a hacer los menus de configuracion y posteo alguna dudilla que tengo y demas. ¿Fale?
